Whether you have Norwegian in your blood or simply in your heart, there are places here that will feel like home. It's a land that is filled with deep history and incredible beauty. Together we will find the places that make your heart sing...and feel like home.
Born in Minnesota, I now find myself enjoying life on our homestead in Enger, Norway, with my college sweetheart, John. My first trip to Norway was as a college student in 1985. From 1990 until 2020, I taught Norwegian language and culture as director of the adult programs through Concordia Language Villages. During that time, I led numerous tours to Norway.
I love helping people with Norwegian ancestry create their dream trip "home," to Norway.

I knew I wanted to go to Norway, but I didn’t know where to begin planning, especially since I
wanted to go to the regions where my ancestors came from and not just a standard tour. Then a
friend recommended Kari Berit, and everything fell into place. She asked good questions about
what kind of trip we (my husband, son and daughter-in-law) wanted, and she listened to our
answers. We emailed back and forth several times to tweak the itinerary and she was always
willing to make the changes. She knew what had to be booked way in advance because of
popular demand. She also left free time in the schedule so we could pick and choose what we
wanted to do some days based on weather and our energy level.
When on the trip, she was an excellent guide who taught us a lot about Norwegian culture and
customs. She was always pleasant to be with. She bent over backwards to make sure we had
what we needed in terms of comfort, food and drink. Kari made sure our son and his wife (in
their early 30s) found some more adventurous activities to do on their own. The two-week trip
was structured, but also flexible. We had full days, but also time to relax. We found the farm
where one great grandfather was born and the church where another great grandfather was
baptized. This trip was Number 1 on my bucket list, and I’m so grateful to Kari for making it
happen.

We were so lucky and blessed to have Kari Berit as our tour director for our family trip (eighteen members ages 4 through 76) to Norway June 29 -July 11, 2023. Her experience and expertise in Norwegian culture, language and travel allowed our family to experience Norway in a way that would not be possible on other group tours. Kari went above and beyond throughout the whole process. She lined up our zoon meetings to discuss the trip itinerary. She was available to our family throughout the entire trip and made every effort to set up our family members with activities that met their individual needs whether it be souvenirs, transportation to specific city sites or specific food locations. She recommended interesting off the “tourist grid” locations. She arranged unique family activities (Fjord Safari rubber boat tour, Oslo fjord swimming and sauna) and she set up and arranged for interesting food experiences throughout the entire trip. You will never find a better tour director for your family trip to Norway!

Mange tusen takk to Kari Berit and John for hosting us at Nordenga. It was such a lovely visit. You have a beautiful home and kind, beautiful hearts. Thanks for letting me sleep in the barn so I could wake up to that amazing view!
